1950s Bridal Shower Invitations
How much fun would it be to plan and dress up for a 1950's bridal shower? If you're looking for a fabulous shower theme that inspires everyone to get dolled up for a few hours of FUN a 50's party is a GREAT way to go!

Back in the 1950's just about every bride-to-be was expected to become "just-a-housewife" and mother after she was married so when it came time to plan her bridal shower, it was basically a Stock the Kitchen kind of affair. Not that there's anything wrong with that. There isn't. In fact, most bridal shower gifts are intended for kitchen use even today!
But... we do not expect every woman who's getting married to become a slave to her kitchen but that doesn't mean she wouldn't want some nice new things for when she AND her new husband decide to do some heavy cooking in there.
And that's what makes a good old-fashioned 1950's Housewife or Stock the Kitchen theme SO MUCH FUN!

1950's Bridal Shower Invitations
Take the bride and all of her friends and family back to a simpler time with a 1950's Housewife bridal shower party. All the food should be from the 50's and for an even better time, have everyone dress the part. We're talking Poodle skirts and Saddle shoes with ankle socks, Pill Box hats and pearls, and don't forget white gloves and aprons for everyone!
As you can see, most of our favorite 50's bridal shower invites feature images of women dressed in clothing from the mid-century.
Retro Stock the Kitchen Bridal Shower
If the bride-to-be and her sweetie like to cook, or want to learn how together after they're married, a Stock the Kitchen bridal shower is sure to be a hit. Gift ideas would be small appliances, bakeware, pots and pans, tableware and all kinds of kitchen utensils.
Party ideas might include a cooking lesson, recipe swap, cookie baking or anything else food related. Don't forget to play some golden oldies music too!
