Don't worry. I'm not going to tell you what I got in my Spring 2019 box which I received today so there's no need for a spoiler alert. As a retro girl of a certain age, I'm here to tell you why I LOVE my FabFitFun box subscription. Disclaimer: I bought my own subscription to FabFitFun and I am not being paid in any way to say any of the following. However, I will be compensated if you decide to sign up for one of their subscription boxes after clicking on one of the affiliate links on this page. BUT, so will you! As of this posting, I'll get a $15.00 credit and you'll get $10.00 off the cost of your first box. Win. Win! ![]() First of all, I really LOVE their choices of products because they are consistently high quality and perfect for anyone at any age, In the past I've received some other make up boxes that I thought were great but there were always products in them that I didn't feel were appropriate for my age group... which happens to be over-the-hill, aka over 50. Don't get me wrong, I'm not here to lecture anyone about their make up or what you should or shouldn't do at any age. I'm "all about" being yourself and YOU doing YOU. I'm just saying that when I'm busy doing ME, big false lashes, neon-colored eye shadow palettes and strange-colored (Seriously strange... The last one I got looked like the clay dirt in my North Carolina backyard.) matte formula lippies (that's lipstick in make up box speak) are NOT my thing. Never were and never will be. Not to be someone who wastes things, I always gave away my unwanted treasures. That's why, when my friend and partner on this blog, Bonnie, who's also an Avon representative and beauty blogger who really knows her stuff, and who writes The Queen of the Girl Geeks blog, recommended FabFitFun, I was foolishly hesitant to give it a try and because of that, I missed out on getting a REALLY GREAT box last Fall. By winter, I was more open to experimenting and handed over the money for a one time box. I figured what the heck. And I'm SO GLAD I did because I was absolutely thrilled with EVERYTHING I got. The FabFitFun boxes seem to be geared more towards skin care and healthy products to try. They also have apparel, household items, hand bags, and jewelry. Plus... you can still get make up. The great thing is that everything seems to be age appropriate for ANYONE and in colors that would look good on almost everyone. My two boxes have each contained a great mix of products. Really GREAT! And there was nothing given away... at all! After getting my winter box, and then later experiencing one of their sales, (Which are to die for! Seriously... the stuff is discounted like crazy. And I usually want everything.) I quickly signed up for their yearly subscription because you can save a few dollars that way, AND I don't want to miss out on anymore of their fabulous boxes. Oh, and when you join by the year, you get first dibs at choosing more of the items in your box. You always get to choose some of the items. How awesome is that? In addition to the great boxes and the fantastic sales that they run, there's also a terrific community where you can find recipes, exercises, helpful articles, and talk to other people who love their boxes too! It really is Fab, Fit, and Fun to be a part of this wonderful subscription and I'd love for you to join me there! ReCap: 7 Quick Reasons Why I Love FabFitFun
P.S. While I was writing this I received an email filled with tons of digital discount offers from them! I kid you not. This company just keeps getting better and better! Are you a FabFitFun subscriber? Do you want to be? Tell me about it in the comments. I'd love to hear what you think of this box subscription.

I came across this custom and personalized bridal shower theme design this morning and fell "head over heels" in LOVE.
The simple navy and cream colors allow all of the party specifics to stand out while also keeping things posh and elegant. The design features an immaculately dressed woman wearing what looks like a designer dress and hat from the fifties era. She;s standing next to a cute little puppy dog. |
Because of Prohibition, Speakeasies were always hidden away. That's why it's a fun idea to decorate the door leading to the party.
Here's a great 1920's Speakeasy door cover that I found at Amazon that will give your entrance the right look. (Did you notice the set of eyes peeking out. It took me a minute too!) But if you'd rather, you can DIY your door decorations with homemade signs. |
OR buy one of these fun realistic-looking prohibition signs at Amazon and post it at the entryway to the party.
The sign says; CLOSED For Violation of National Prohibition Act by order of United States District Court. All persons are forbidden to enter premises without order from the United States Marshal. The idea behind decorating the entry door is to get your guests into the mood and atmosphere of a 1920's Speakeasy as soon as they arrive at the party. |
If you're planning a photo op at your party, in keeping with the faux illegalities of the day, instead of a regular photo, why not make it a mug shot instead? It's always fun and games when you create a place at the party especially for photos and selfies which become keepsakes of the event when the night is over. Using this Mugshot backdrop makes it easy to create just the right photo memories.
